I’ll be walking in our local RUN TO RICHES 10k (6 miles) in Avery’s honor. According to the Run to Riches website, this event was organized “to pay tribute to those who once walked among us by bringing people together for a morning of exercise, reflection, community, and charity.”
I can’t help but think of all the summers Avery and I would walk together. Last summer, Avery even went so far as to organizing a work-out schedule for me. She had heard me express displeasure about my lack of physical activity and decided to do some internet research. She presented me with a list of warm-up exercises, followed by a mile long walk, and even scheduled water breaks. To make sure I wouldn’t lose interest, she had me stop at the library to pick up an audio book and loaned me her earbuds (headphones).
This event is so much Avery! I hope one hundred of you would walk with me. I want to be surrounded by love.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to join us. We don’t want anyone not being able to participate due to finances. Therefore, even though the entry fee was $35 we are offering a “your choice”. Pay what you can and come walk or run with us and honor those that have passed.
